I had an appointment on Monday with my rheumatologist 2 1/2 hours away he didn't have much new to say except that we need to get the Rheumatoid Arthritis under control once again so the damage being done to my joints can slow down, he upped my muscle relaxers and suggested I get into physical therapy 3-4 days a week not sure where I'm supposed to fit that into my day. On Friday I got my first infusion of Orencia on I ended up having a reaction to the infusion so I will be interested to see how the infusion in 2 weeks goes I'm assuming if I have another reaction they will have to try another med. The joys of getting Rheumatoid Arthritis under control, its already been a long road.
The kids continued working on their Christmas Unit Study, and their Christmas Symbols lapbook. They have been enjoying a break from our regular daily studies. Dustin accidentally left one of his praying mantis eggs out in one of our empty cages and it hatched, so we now have tons of baby praying mantises...
We didn't end up making it out to Christmas Around The World exhibit over at the Gardens last week like I had hoped, so hopefully we will get a chance to go this coming up week.
We will be going to both of my Grandparents houses on Christmas for a holiday meal, get together, and presents for the kids, it is always so nice to see some of the family members we only see once a year on Christmas! We are having a Christmas family get together at our house next Sunday and then Monday having our Hasbro House Party for New Years Eve, so it will be a busy week yet again!
- My favorite thing this week was…
Making holiday treats with the kids, it is a yearly tradition and this year it spanned over 2 days! It was very exhausting, but so much fun! Yes the 2 little boys do not have shirts on in the picture, while I was making the frosting for the cookies the kids were all rolling the dough and cutting out cookies. Well, I guess the boys didn't think it was that big of a deal for the 2 little boys to bathe in flour. Needless to say their shirts were trashed with flour and they went shirtless for the rest of our cookie making session :)
I am working on planning out our second part of the school year. I finished our first part of the school year planning back in August but didn't finish the whole year, during Christmas Break I am working to get the second half of the school year planned out.
I haven't had much time to do any personal reading, but I have been reading lots of Christmas stories with the kids. Some of our favorites this year have been
LOL I hate to admit this but other then our holiday treats I have not been cooking much at all.
The victims of the Sandy Park Elementary shooting, as they go through the holidays to many will be missing someone they loved. I am praying that God gives them the strength and courage to get through the holidays despite the fact that they are hurting so bad right now.
