Homeschool Mothers Journal~The One During Christmas Break

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a great New Years, we sure have enjoyed a great Christmas Break, but we are looking forward to getting back to our normal schedule tomorrow! I am working on getting lots of posts up that I never finished before break, so stay tuned for the rest of our Christmas Posts and a tour of our new school/sensory motor room and the new school room!

In my life the past 2 weeks…
I went in for my second infusion Friday, and it went good, but this weekend between the infusion and the methotrexate I take on Fridays, I am completely exhausted! I go back in 2 weeks for another infusion, the last week I have been feeling like I have a little more energy and some of my joint pain is less, enough to where I have been able to finally lower my prednisone, so I am very hopeful. With break the last couple weeks have been very lazy around here, for quite a few days me and some of the kids did not even get out of our pj's for the day it was wonderful. It will be nice to get back to our normal routine though.

In our homeschool the past 2 weeks…
We didn't have school, the kids have been just enjoying their last week off of school have been enjoying all their new Christmas Gifts, the favorites have been all the new Imaginext sets the boys got, and the new Kindle Fire HD & Kindle Fire.

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
Ethan starts back to school on Monday so I will be back to dropping him off and picking him up Monday through Thursday, I have a couple of doctors appointments to go to and my monthly blood work. We are having one of my old friends from school over to visit on Friday, she will be bringing her kiddo that won't be in school for the kids to play with.

My favorite thing and my kids favorite thing from the past 2 weeks was…
Being lazy... Like I said we did not do much of anything, I enjoyed my time with the kids we played board games, watched some movies, and took advantage of some extra snuggle time, it was a great way to enjoy the break!

Things I’m working on…
I have finally finished redesigning the blog I did lots of personalizing to the site hoping to make it easier to find what you want, hopefully now I will figure out how to fix my drop down menu soon that for some reason it is stuck behind the posts, everything I have tried doesn't work including changing the z-index... I am now working on finishing getting school planned and scheduled for the kids for the next part of our year, and getting caught up on all of my Christmas posts that never finished getting posted and the top 2012 posts on Mama Of Many Blessings.

I’m cooking…
We made tons of goodies for our Hasbro New Years Eve House Party! I have been only making easy and quick dinners since we have been taking it easy during break.

Things that are working and not working for us...
Menu Planning... I had been slacking on my usual monthly menu planning for a couple months now and it has not worked so well! So this week I will be planning a monthly menu again for our lunches and dinners and we will be using that once again!

I’m grateful for…
My wonderful daughter, she has been such a help in making food for the holidays with me and has also been watching all the kids once a week so that me and Jake can get out for a date night. This has been a wonderful thing for us to be able to finally enjoy.

I’m praying for…
Multiple Mommy's family, as they try to find their way back to life without the person everyone loved so much who has now gone to be with the lord! The story just breaks my heart, and is a reminder to live each day as if it were our last, we don't know what tomorrow holds for any of us!

I rewarded my kids this past 2 weeks by…
Having a Hasbro New Years Eve party, and letting the kids indulge in all kinds of treats that they are not usually allowed to have. We all played Hasbro games compliments of Hasbro all night, and the kids even continued through the next day, their new favorite games are scrabble Catch Phrase and Yahtzee.
